A cousin, who lives in North Carolina has found that Colden is not the son of Uriah Williams, but a nephew, we think.  She found in Edgecombe county, N.C., 24 August 1779, a Coulding Williams, 16 year old orphan of John Williams dec'd was bound out to Uriah Williams to learn to be a cooper, however he had previously been bound out to William Ellinor and had been removed by the court and his other 2 brothers and 1 sister were bound out 26 August 1772, which means John must have died by August 1772.  Children were Colden, Joshua, Micajah and Winney.  Joshua and Michajah were bound out to William Williams to learn the Art and Mystery of Plantations.  Winney was bound out to Pilgrim Pope to learn the art and mystery of Spinning and Weaving.
