Robert Matthiesen; see 1830 Table): There is no James Thompson/Thomson listed in Christian Co. in 1830, but surely he was there. I'm inclined to think he must have been living with someone else who was head-of-household (e.g., his parents or a brother). There is a John Thompson in Christian Co. in 1830 whose household appears to consist of an older couple, a younger couple, an older girl and a little girl, which would easily account for James and Elizabeth and their daughter. This is the only Thompson family in Christian Co. in 1830 into which James, Elizabeth, and "S.A." could fit, so we may very well have determined the name of James' father. On the other hand, this scenario is entirely hypothetical. It may be wrong.
