1.  I have no answer for the discrepancies in the dates for the marriage records.  The bond must be procured first, before a license can be granted, after which a marriage ceremony can take place (please see my description of marriage records).  These steps are usually only separated by a day or two, if not done all on the same day.  I do not doubt that the marriage took place in 1818, despite a secondary source saying it was 1819.  The fact that the bonds were recorded chronologically in a county record book — these records are not of the bonds, themselves, which are loose pieces of paper — makes for absolutely no doubt that the bond was recorded in 1818.  It seems unlikely, in the extreme, that the marriage ceremony took place a year later.

9 William Teague to Mary Thompson Feb [?] 22, 1818 by Jonathan Clark
It was the ninth bond recorded in the book (bonds were numbered).  I do not know, now, why I put a question mark after "Feb" in my notes — mea culpa for poor research technique — but there does seem to be some question as to whether it was January or February.

1820 Teague, William KY Christian Co. p. 29
1820 Teague, William TN Wilson Co. p. 19 010211-11101
On this CD, these three are the only William Teague's in all of KY and TN.  The one in Christian Co. is known to be our subject's father, William Sr., based on his numerical data (see his page).  The William in TN is aged over 45 years, so he cannot be our subject, who is age 22 or 23.  It appears our subject is the one in Hopkins Co., but we'll need to see the numerical data to be more certain.  Given that William Sr. is said to have died in Hopkins Co. in 1837, one would have thought he was the one in Hopkins Co., but apparently not because the numbers show him to be in Christian Co. in both 1820 and 1830.

1830 Census Teague, William TN Yardin Co. p. 15
1832 ? Teague, William TN Yardin Co.
There is not now and never has been a "Yardin" Co. in Tennessee; it must be a misspelling or a misreading of Hardin.

4.  Census Index:  U.S. Selected Counties, 1840 (Broderbund CD-316).  Surnames from the mid-H's thru Z for Tennesee are missing from this CD.  Please see my WARNINGS regarding use of this and other Broderbund Census CDs, for this and other reasons.

Gressom, Jerome B. Teague, Sarahann Jul 16, 1844 Fayette Co.
Teague, William Whitehead, Temperance Dec 11, 1845 Fayette Co.
Price, William M. Teague, Minerva Jul 23, 1846 Fayette Co.
Hood, Robertson Teage, Catharine Oct 10, 1848 Fayette Co.
FYI:  these are all the Teague marriages in Fayette Co. on this disk.  Minerva and Catherine appear to be the daughters of William & Mary; Emily and Sarah Ann could be their daughters; William is apparently not their son.
