One of the sons is said to be named, "Marion," and it is most likely Francis, who was probably named for Francis MARION, Revolutionary War hero (popularly known as the "Swamp Fox"). The fact that Frank's twin is named Lafayette, presumably for Revolutionary War hero, the Marquis de La Fayette, is even more supportive.

Said to have had a son, Andrew Barnett "Barney" STROUP, b. 1830 or 32, but he's not found with then in any census, unless he was really born in 1846 and is Samuel.
