Where is Michael's wife? She is said not to have died until 1854. It's hard to interpret the ordering of the children, but Jonas is surely a grandchild. If so, is he Jane's son? And if so, doesn't that make her Michael's daughter-in-law. Listed between Michael's presumed sons, Lawson STROUP (æ 31) and Isaac STROUP (æ 36). There is a 75-yr old Louisa STROUP living with Lawson, whom I would have taken to be his mother. If so, is Lawson really Michael's son, or is Jane actually Louisa Jane?
