Adam is said to have died in NC, but I've found no evidence that he was ever in NC.

2. Matthias STROUP, b. ca. 1723
3. Jacob STROUP, b. ca. 1724, Baltimore Co., MD
4. Hanna Margaret STROUP, b. ca. 1726
5. Peter STROUP, b. ca. 1728

Our subjects's son, Jacob, is said to have been the one in Lincoln [now Gaston] Co., NC:
. Jacob STRAUB , b. 7 Jan 1722
but two decendants of this Jacob STROUP have been DNA tested, and they are a strong genetic match to tested descendants of Johann Pieter STRAUB, the 1733 immigrant to Philadelphia. In other words, he is not a son of our subject.
