Could Samuel "STOUT" be our subject?  It must have been a difficult entry to read because the LDS transcribed it "STREET' (see next source).  Or did our subject simply not marry, at all, until 1840?

Listed next to Samuel's presumed brother, Andrew S. STRAUB, merchant.  The lack of children suggests either Samuel didn't have a prior wife or she died with no surviving children (e.g., giving birth to her first child).
