Adeline¹⁰ HOLTZCLAW [Abner⁹, Benjamin⁸, Johann⁷, Hans Jacob⁶…] was the mother-in-law of B. B. KING, a brother of Mary KING, who married Peter STRAUB / STROUB (of Switzerland) and lived in Lincoln Co., KY.

2.  1870 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  John states he immigrated in 1866, 1867, 1868, or 1870, so we ought to be able to find him in the 1870 census, but I can't find him or his brother, William.

3.  1880 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  can't find John or his brother, William.  We know John was here by 1881 because he was married in Indiana in 1881, but I wonder if he really was in the U.S. by 1880.  In 1880, John's wife-to-be is living in Paoli Twp., Orange Co., IN, so I did a page-by-page check of Paoli Township in 1880, but did not find John or his brother.

4.  1890 Census:  the 1890 Census Population Schedules were destroyed.
