PETER STRAUB, JR. was a son of Peter Straub, Sr.  The younger man was born in what is now Washington Twp, Snyder County, on March 18, 1776, and died on October 10, 1845.  His wife was Anna Marie, daughter of John Haines and his wife Regina Schuster.  Anna Marie was born on July 4, 1772, and died on January 28, 1845.  Both are buried at St Peters Cemetery in Freeburg.  They had no children of their own, but raised Jacob Haines, a nephew of Mrs. Straub.  Jacob was the grandfather of Mrs. Dennis R. Fisher of Selinsgrove.
