Humphrey utilized many sources for his compilation, one of which appears
to have been the Ministerial Acts of Daniel Schumacher, Lutheran Pastor
(1968, Pennsylvania German Society, v.1., p. 80) as cited by others and
which further indicates the baptism occured in Lynn Twp. Margareda
Catharina must have died young because she is not mentioned in our subject's
will.

11. Herbert C. Bell. 1891. History of Northumberland
County... Brown, Runk & Co., Chicago (text online at the PAGenWeb Northumberland Co. web site [link died]). Paraphrased
by DGM:
| Mahantango Twp. was formed in 1795 from Penn's
Twp. In 1816, Mahantango Twp. ceded land to Perry Twp., then in 1818,
to Washington Twp., at which point Mahantango ceased to exist. Perry
and Washington Twps. were further subdivided to form West Perry, Chapman,
and Union Twps. These five townships were among those ceded by Union
Co. to form Snyder Co. in 1855. Therefore, individuals living in
"Mahantango Twp., Northumberland Co." were actually living in what later
became south-central and southeastern Snyder Co. |
