Richland Center, Wis., Aug. 21 —(AP)— Frank Straub, Lone Rock, found guilty by a coroner's jury of gross negligence in the death of Alfred Janecek, a mail carrier, in an automobile accident here, was bound over for trial in county court on a charge of manslaughter after a preliminary hearing yesterday Straux (sic) was released under $2,000 bail.

The first telephone service in Lone Rock began this year.  The telephone office was operated by the Frank Straub family, who the (sic) the grandparents of the bestselling author, Peter Straub.

11a.  World War I Selective Service System Draft Registration Cards, 1917-18.  Microfilm Series M1509 (4277 rolls), NARA, Washington, DC (card images and index online at Ancestry.com):  These card images are blurry, in general, but Frank's is especially so.  What I can read is that his name is Francis Henry STRAUB, he was born 22 Jan 1881, he's the manager of a telephone company, and his nearest relative is his wife.
