MARION -- E. Elizabeth Rasey-Baker, age 81, of 499 Delaware Ave., Marion, passed away Wednesday evening, July 14, 2004, at Community Healthcare Center in Marion. 

Elizabeth was born June 2, 1923, in Green Camp, the daughter of the late Charles and Jenny (Logsdon) Richards

She was a 1941 graduate of Pleasant High School and a member of the Grace Baptist Church.  She worked for many years as a waitress in the River Valley Stop at the intersection of Ohio 98 and Ohio 309, which she and her husband Lawrence operated from 1961 until 1979.  After moving into the Marion Towers, she volunteered in the craft room and store for several years. 

In 1945 she married Lawrence M. Rasey.  He preceded her in death in 1972.  She married Durward F. "Dee" Baker in 1981.  He passed away in 1999. 

Elizabeth is survived by her three children:  John (Annette) Rasey of Columbus; Sandra (Bernard) Brown of Marion; and Joyce DeWitt, also of Marion; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. 

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2004, at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia.  Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will receive them today from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
