Thomas MANN
Elizabeth JONES
What is going on here?!  I just found the marriage record of "Francis" MANN to Elizabeth JONES on the same day as the marriage to Thomas.  Couple that with the fact that a post in GenForum has Elizabeth JONES married to John MANN on 29 Aug 1785 in Lincoln Co.!!   JONES is a common enough name that I could accept the coincidence of the names, but surely not the date and place.
Husband:  Thomas MANN
Birth:  bef. 1765
Father probablyCharles MANN
Marriage:  29 Aug 1785, Lincoln Co., VA [now KY]
Wife:  Elizabeth JONES
Birth:  1765-84 (closer to 1765)

To begin with, there is no extant 1810 Census for Stewart Co., TN.  In addition, please note the numerical data consist of six digits for males and five for females.  There is only one census year in which the digits for males and females were asymmetrical and that was 1820 when the digits were, indeed, 6/5.  Please compare this entry to the next one, both data and page number.  Clearly, there has been corruption of the Broderbund database and this record belongs in 1820.  Please see my further WARNINGS regarding use of this database.  For a description of the data on the Federal Census schedules, see What the Numbers in the Census Mean
There is no Thomas MANN in 1810 in this database who is obviously the one from Lincoln Co.

3c.  The census index online at Broderbund's GenealogyLibrary.com is the same one as on the Broderbund CD, so it, too, is flawed.

3d.  The census index online at Ancestry.com is similarly afflicted — they must have bought their data from the same flawed source.

4.  Census Index:  U.S. Selected Counties, 1820 (Broderbund CD-314):
1820 Mann, Thomas TN Stewart Co. p. 18 500110-00210
This Thomas MANN, b. 1775-1794, is too young to be the Thomas MANN who is subject of this family group sheet, but given that I suspect these MANNs went to Stewart Co., TN, could this Thomas MANN be the son or nephew of the Thomas MANN who married Elizabeth JONES in 1785?  Otherwise, there is no Thomas MANN in this database in 1820 who is obviously the one from Lincoln Co.

Hard to say who this man might be, but given the lack of an earlier appearance, I do not believe he is the subject of this family group sheet.  I suspect he may be a nephew.  His disappearance in 1820 suggests he was living in Todd Co.
