EZRA5 LYON [Aaron,4 William,3 John,2 William1] was born in Woodstock, Dec. 9, 1744, and died Sept. 27, 1783 (or '88).  His wife's name was Sabra.  She was born in 1745 and died Dec. 23, 1811, ae. 66 (G.R, which reads "Mrs. Sabra Bugbee, formerly wife of Ezra Lyon").  Ezra and other members of the family were buried in the Lyon cemetery, West Woodstock.

§Marcus was returning on horseback from a visit to relatives in New York State when he was waylaid and murdered by two ruffians, who were apprehended in Boston just as they were about to go on board a ship for foreign parts.  They were tried, convicted and hanged for the crime, which caused great indignation and excitement throughout the region.
