2.  1790 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  John not found, but Amos LONDON is living in Surry Co., NC (2-1-2-0-0), so the assertion that John has moved from NJ to NC is apparently correct.  John could be living with them, but if so, then there are not enough females in the household, meaning either John's mother is deceased or his daughter, Sarah, was not born yet.  It's possible John is living with his in-laws, if we only knew who they were.  Unfortunately, the list was roughly alphabetized, so we get no clue based on proximity to Amos on the list.
