Abraham T. ECHOLES
Sarah STROUP
WARNING:  This family group sheet is based partly on circumstantial evidence.  Consider the page to be tentative.
Husband:  Abraham T. ECHOLES / ECHOLS / ACKLES / AKLES
Birth:  1750-60
Death:  1830-40, presumably in Ohio Co., VA [now Marshall Co., WV]

Given Abraham's age when he married Sarah, she is almost certainly his second wife.

Marriage:  5 Jul 1791, Ohio Co., VA [now WV]
Wife:  Sarah STROOP / STROUP
Birth:  1774/5, Ohio Co., VA [now WV]
Death:  1850-60, Ohio Co., VA [now WV]
Father:  Conrad STROUP
Mother:  Margaret __?__
Children — born in Elizabeth, Ohio Co., VA [now Moundsville, Marshall Co., WV]:
  1.  (Daughter A) ECHOLS, b. 1791-94
  2.  (Son A) ECHOLS, b. 1794-1800
  3.  (Son B) ECHOLS, b. 1794-1800
  4.  Margaret "Peggy" ECHOLS, b. 17 Jan 1801, PA?
  5.  (Daughter B) ECHOLS, b. 1800-1810
  6.  (Son C) ECHOLS, b. 1800-1810 — possibly Henry ECHOLS
  7.  (Son D) ECHOLS, b. 1800-1810 — possibly Jeremiah ECHOLS
  8.  (Son E) ECHOLS, b. 1800-1810 — possibly Thomas ECHOLS
  9.  (Son F) ECHOLS, b. 1800-1810 — possibly David ECHOLS
10.  (Daughter C) ECHOLS, b. 1810-15
11.  (Son G) ECHOLS, b. 1810-15

Ohio and Marshall Cos., WV, are right on the state line with PA, so it's possible Margaret was born in PA.

*In the 1820 Census, the third column is age class 16-18 and the fourth column is age class 16-25; therefore, any individual in column three is duplicated in column four.  By subtracting the number in column three from the number in column four, you can create an age class "19-25."

Sarah ECHOLES is almost certainly Margaret's mother, who is almost certainly our subject's widow.  The only other ECHOLS/etc. living in Ohio County are a widow, Susan (æ 37, b. OH), and her seven children, plus an unmarried Clementine ECHOLS (æ 22, b. VA) living with the NICHOLS family.  I don't find Jeremiah, David, Henry, or Thomas anywhere in 1850.
