This is an older couple than our subjects, with the last of their children coming of age.

4.  Census Index:  U.S. Selected Counties, 1820 (Broderbund CD-314):  there was no census in Missouri Territory.  There were 30 James DAVISes in Kentucky, including a James E. DAVIS in Fayette County, but with a name this common, you really have to know where someone is before you can point to a census record and say it is a particular James DAVIS.
