Edward and Charles were in the Confederate Army and captured at Fort Fisher, N.C. 15 January 1865... [Edward] died of Smallpox 23 May 1865 at Elmira Union Prison, N.Y.  Charles was parolled 15 Jun 1865.  He was found dead within a mile of his home and identified by papers on his body.
