| Nathan CORBIN
Sarah JAMES |
| Husband: Nathan CORBIN, Sr.
Birth: 1738 Death: 1803 WARNING: I have found no proof that
these are Nathan's parents.
|
| Marriage: 16 Oct 1758, Baltimore Co., MD |
| Wife: Sarah JAMES
Birth: 10 Feb 1733, Baltimore Co., MD Father: William JAMES Mother: Frances __?__ Sarah's birthdate is almost certainly incorrect, for two reasons: 1) men only very rarely married women older than themselves, and 2) if she was born in 1733, then she would have been 55 years of age when she birthed Abraham, which is impossible. "1733" was probably someone's misreading of "1738" or, more likely, a typo of "1743." Getting married at 15 is much less far-fetched than having a baby at 55, or even 50. |
| Children — born in Baltimore [or Harford?] Co., MD: |
| 1. John
CORBIN, b. 31 Mar 1760
2. Shadrach CORBIN, b. 1766, Gunpowder, Baltimore Co., MD; d. 1840 3. (Daughter A — Margaret?) CORBIN, b. 1774-84 4. Nathan CORBIN, Jr., b. 17 Jun 1776 5. Abraham CORBIN, b. 6 Mar 1788; bap. 26 Aug 1792, Baltimore Co., MD Based on early geographic proximity in MD, these are very likely Nathan
& Sarah's children, though they do not appear later in Clermont Co.,
OH:
There is a Margaret CORBIN (b. 1775/6, MD) in the 1850 census of Clermont Co., OH (living with the DOUGHTY family), who, if unmarried rather than a widow, may be "Daughter A." |
