| Abraham CORBIN
Rachael MARSHALL |
| WARNING: I believe a bad connection has been made in the secondary literature and that the Abraham CORBIN who married Rachael MARSHAL is not the son of Edward CORBIN. Not only have I found nothing to document the connection, a connection is not even probable because Edward's son, baptized in 1722, was unlikely to have made a first marriage in 1766, at the age of 44. It appears that a generation has been skipped and that our subject is more likely a grandson, not a son, of Edward. The close association of our subject's children with the children of Sophia (CORBIN) MARSH in Kentucky suggests Abraham may have been Sophia's brother. On the other hand, if so, there were two first-cousin marriages among their children. |
