•  Based on the 1810 census, Peter had two sons and two daughters.  Joseph and James appear to have married sisters, which supports that they were probably brothers and making James the younger son.  The age of the other daughter is a guess.

•  Weaver states that the only proven children of our subject are Joseph and Elizabeth.
[Elizabeth appears to be the Ann Elizabeth / Elizabeth Ann / Anna Eliza of others.]

•  Catherine is too young to be Violinda's mother; Violinda can only be Peter's daughter if he had a prior wife and if he was born before ca. 1755, not just before 1765.  The 15-year gap between Vioilinda and Joseph would also signal a prior wife.
•  If Violinda truly was born in Princes Georges Co., MD, then the most likely candidates for her parents are Bartholomew & Winifred (PADGET) CARRICO, as the only CARRICOs known to be in the county that early.

•  "Melinda" appears to be a misreading of "Violinda" in her 1850 census record.

p. 331	Peter, Francis, and Catherine Carrico arrived in 1786 on the Pulliam farm at the mouth of Wolf Creek.  It is not known that their parents came with them.  Of four brothers, one settled in Culpeper, one in Charles County, Maryland, and one in Kentucky.  The sons of Francis went West. Peter had one son, Joseph, whose six sons lived mainly in Reno and Lyon.

The CARRICOs did split up into roughly these groups:  one in northeastern Virginia (Prince William, Fauquier, and Culpeper Cos.), the apparent descendants of William CARRICO I; one in southwestern Virginia (Grayson and surrounding counties), the apparent descendants of Abel CARRICO I; one to Kentucky, the apparent descendants of Peter CARRICO II; and with some remaining in Charles Co., MD, their place of origin in the U.S.  However, the split up occurred one, two, or three generations back from our subject.  Was there another split up with his generation?  Son Joseph did have six surviving sons, and they did settle in the Reno Twp. area.
