The two entries on p. 106 don't make sense. How could Richard Carnes
sell the same piece of land to two different people on the same day?
The two entries are almost exactly the same, except for the purchaser.
And to add to the confusion, Samuel Hanson sold part of Maidstone to Richard
Carnes in August of 1779 (see land records of James's father, Peter).
Is this transcriber error?

Tabitha is married, so presumably the five females are Elizabeth and the
four other daughters. But we are short three sons. It's reasonable
that Vincent may already be in Kentucky, as he marries there in 1791.
But where are Walter and Dennis? Or is it really the youngest three
who are at home? Were any of the boys sent off to Catholic boarding
school? This family appears to be well off, so I presume they could
have afforded to send their children off to school.

No children were born between 1790 and 1800, which may mean Elizabeth died
ca. 1790-91. On the other hand, she was in her 40s or 50s in 1790,
so had probably ended her reproductive years. For whatever reason,
James and Mary Anna apparently had no children (at least, no surviving
children) during their three years of marriage. With the death, now,
of both their parents, most of the children appear to have left, even several
of the unmarried ones.
