MONTCALM - Ethel Lillian (Gills) Carrico, 91, of Montcalm, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, in the company of her family in Illinois, after a lengthy illness. Born August 8, 1913, in Crystal, she was the daughter of the late Vernie Gills and Ruth Mabe Gills of Montcalm. A resident of Montcalm for over 50 years, Ethel was an active member of Montcalm Pentecostal Holiness Church and ladies auxiliary, the Eastern Star, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Black Rock Post.  She graduated from McComas High School and worked for the Crystal Company Store and the Neal's IGA Food Store in Montcalm, until retiring.  After the death of her beloved sister-in-law, Virginia (Jenny) Gills, Ethel relocated to Illinois to be close to her family. Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Gray Carrico in 1993, her brother, Vanis (Penny) Gills, and sister-in-law, Virginia Gills. She is survived by her brother, Ralph Gills and his wife Virginia of Florida; her daughters, Darlene Perkins (W.D. Perkins) and Patty Craven (Ralph Craven), of Illinois; and her grandchildren, Bill Perkins (Mary), Vicky Perkins Moxley (Joe Moxley), Greg Craven (Kay), and Debbie Craven; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Perkins Rampage, Billy Perkins, Stephanie Perkins Johnson, Amanda Moxley, Kristen Moxley, Jenny Craven, Rebecca Craven, and Justin Craven; and great great-grandchildren, Jayden Perkins and James Johnson Jr. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004 at the Craven-Shires Funeral Home of Bluewell with the Reverend Glennard Quesenberry officiating.  Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Princeton. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Craven-Shires Funeral Home.
