Abel CARRICO II
Nancy Ann KENT
Husband:  Abel CARRICO II
Birth:  21 Jun 1744, Trinity Parish, Charles Co., MD
Death:  1834, VA
Father:  Abel CARRICO I
Mother:  Elizabeth SIMMS
Marriage:
Wife:  Nancy Ann KENT
Birth:  bef. 1750
Death:  1830/34
Father:  Benoni KENT
Mother:  Jean __?__
Children — born in VA:
1.  William CARRICO, b. 1766/7
2.  Peter CARRICO, b. 1770/1
3.  Susanna CARRICO, b. ca. 1775
4.  Sarah "Sally" CARRICO, b. ca. 1778; m. Isaac MOORE
5.  Abel CARRICO III, b. 1780/1
6.  Joseph CARRICO, b. 1784
7.  Nancy CARRICO, b. 1788/9
8.  Simms CARRICO, b. 1790/93

Several of these children are often attributed to Abel's parents, but Abel's parents were married by at least 1730, so it's very unlikely that Abel's mother was still having children in 1766/7, much less in the 1770s, '80s, or '90s.

It's difficult to reconcile Susannah's marriage in MD with the fact that the family apparently moved to Grayson Co., VA, 30 years earlier.

2.  The 1790, 1800, and 1810 censuses of Virginia were destroyed.  No Abel Carrico is found in the 1790/1800/1810 censuses of MD, at least not in the indexes available to me, which suggests he was in Virginia.  Certainly, he was there by 1810 (see tax list below).
