NY) and his wife, Augusta (æ 21, b. NY), are living in Military Twp., Winneshiek Co., IA (p. 257A), with daughter, Carrie (b. Nov 1869, IA).  Carter CRIPPIN (æ 18, b. NY; unmarried) is boarding in Burke, Franklin Co., NY (p. 496A).

5.  1880 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  Almena is living in Burke, Frankly Co., NY, with her second husband, Finley MOE (q.v.).  Smith CRIPPEN (æ 33, b. NY/NY/NY) and his wife, Agusta (æ 32, b. NY/NY/NY), are living in Davison Co., Dakota Territory [now SD] (p. 476B), with five children, including Carrie (æ 10, b. IA/NY/NY).  Carter J. CRIPPEN (æ 28, b. NY/NY/NY; unmarried; M.D.) is boarding in Constable, Franklin Co., NY (p. 552B).

David Crippen, father of Carter B. Crippen was married to Lydia Love...
