WARNING: This page was compiled partially from secondary sources. In particular, I have no primary source for the name of Solomon's first wife, though it's clear that he must have had a wife prior to his marriage in 1825. If the files at WorldConnect, OneWorldTree, and the LDS are any indication, the genealogy of the earlier generations of BELEW/etc. is a mess, so I'm not attempting to connect Solomon to his alleged parents. It does appear that the only other BELEW in the 1830 census of Jefferson County, Marshal BELEW, is probably Solomon's nephew. Marshal moved to Illinois by 1840.

Secondary sources give our subject this daughter, married to Joseph Ehret BLAKE:

However, the Susan I. BLAKE living with Joseph E. BLAKE in the 1900 census of Central Twp., Jefferson Co., MO (p. 39A), is age 42, born Apr 1858, so she cannot possibly be the daughter of Solomon BELEW. Nor is this Susan fibbing much, if at all, about her age because she has a son, age one year, in 1900. She cannot be much older and have a son that young.
