"B" Minister usually stands for "Baptist Minister," but James was definitely Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).  Margaret was born in MO, not WI; George W. THOMPSON is her brother.  The family has managed to get itself enumerated twice, once in Sonora in June and once in Santa Clara in August, which tells us when they left the gold country, but doesn't tell us when they moved from El Dorado County to Tuoloumne County.

Thomas THOMPSON is Margaret's father, and Mildred Bell (CAVE) LAINE THOMPSON is Thomas's third wife and Margaret's step-mother.  Thomas Henry LAINE is Mildred's son from her second marriage, and Lucy is his wife.  William H. THOMPSON is Margaret's brother, and Allen W. THOMPSON (a male) is Margaret's half-brother, son of her father's second wife, Susannah JONES.  Marcus CAVE appears to be Mildred's nephew.

[date served]) James Anderson.  "Few men were better known among pioneers and workers of the Christian Church in the state."  His wife was Thomas Thompson's only daughter.  He was on the board of trustees of Christian College.  He died April 18, 1884 while preaching a sermon in Cloverdale, California, and was buried in Santa Rosa.  His wife was buried by his side ten years later.  (When the college was opened, it was understood that members of the faculty would conduct the church's public services.  It is not possible to learn positively the succession in which they served.)

Thomas had three surviving daughters.  Unless one of their deathdates is wrong, James's wife outlived him by 13 years.
