1. The grouping of the Northampton Co. images online at Ancestry.com is a mess stemming from the fact that the morons at the National Archives rebound the original pages (grouping all the separate townships into one book), competely mixing the townships before microfilming. Ancestry did the best they could, but in the case of Jacob's record, his entry in the index is linked to the wrong page, so it takes some hunting to find him. The lists were roughly alphabetized, but the fact that Jacob — for some unknowable reason — is stuck in the middle of the G's doesn't make finding him any easier. His page is Image #3 of 3 in the group labeled "Whitehall and Sallisbery," when it should have been Image #1 of 4 in the group labeled "Whitehall and Upper Saucond." At Genealogy.com, Jacob's page is correctly linked and labeled (Image #1 of 4 of "Upper Saucon").
2. Mahantango Twp. was formed in 1795 from Penn's Twp. In 1816, Mahantango Twp. ceded land to Perry Twp. and, in 1818, to Washington Twp., at which point Mahantango ceased to exist. Perry and Washington Twps. were further subdivided to form West Perry, Chapman, and Union Twps. These five townships were among those ceded by Union Co. to form Snyder Co. in 1855. Therefore, inhabitants shown as living in "Mahantango Twp., Northumberland Co." in the 1800 or 1810 censuses were actually living in what later became south-central and south-eastern Snyder Co.
3. At least a dozen names obscurred by tape and at least a dozen more partially or barely readable.

2. The Nicholass STROAL indexed in Centre Co. is probably STROAL, not STROAB.
3. The Henry STRAGE, Jacob STRAGO, and Peter STRAGO in Chester Co. all look to me to be STRAGO.
