| The 1790 and 1800 Virginia censuses were lost, except for Accomac County (Delmarva Peninsula) in 1800. The entire 1890 census was lost. Only two Virginia counties are on the Delmarva Peninsula: Accomac and Northampton. West Virginia did not become independent from Virginia (did not become a state) until 1863, but I have kept those counties separate from the start, as if WV had always existed.. |
