Timeline Tables of Surname CARRICO (and Variations)
in the 1820-1930 Censuses of Virginia
Lines known to be related are highlighted with the same color.
The progenitors listed below are known, believed, or asserted to be
descendants of Peter CARRICO I, the 1674 immigrant to Maryland.
Descendants of Abel CARRICO I (<1707-c1790), s/o Peter I
of Charles Co., MD, and Grayson Co., VA
Presumed Descendants of William CARRICO I (c1750s-1810s), s/o ?
eldest CARRICO to Prince William Co., VA
Descendants of James CARRICO (1779/80-1853), s/o ?
of Loudoun Co., VA, then Vermilion Co., IL
The 1790 and 1800 censuses of Virginia were lost.  The 1810 census of Grayson County was lost.  Tax rolls are substituted where available.  The entire 1890 census was lost.  Although West Virginia did not separate from Virginia until 1863, I've treated its counties as if West Virginia had existed from the start.

Prince William County
(formed in 1731 from King George County; records from 1840 incorrectly indexed at Ancestry.com as being in Prince George County)
PLEASE NOTEWilliam CARRICO I is the eldest of the first CARRICOs to appear in the censuses of Prince William and adjacent Fauquier and Culpeper Counties.  It is possible to derive all the early CARRICOs in these three counties from William I, and I have done so below.  Please consider my doing so to be a working hypothesis, not a final conclusion, and certainly not proven connections.  Functionally, having them distinctively colored in the tables makes following them through the censuses easier, especially as it emphasizes the separation of these CARRICOs from those in the southwestern counties of Virginia.
