This genealogy web site contains over 12,000 pages and gets nearly
400,000 page hits per month. It generates far more email than
I can possibly answer. There are only so many hours in the day,
and we all benefit more from my doing research and putting the results
online (which helps many), than if I spend my time answering individual
emails (which would help only a few). The exception is my DNA project
members — they always have first priority when it comes to answering my
email.
| If your message is in regard to a technical problem with the web site,
a data error you have found, or data you wish to share, please be assured
that I will get back to you with a personal reply as soon as possible (which
doesn't necessarily mean immediately). But, even if you have information
to share…
Please write me first and ask me if I want what you intend to send.
Very often I don't, so it's a waste of your time as well as mine for you
to send me unsolicited material. |
| If your message is a request for
further information, help, or advice, I'm afraid I must ask that you please
do not email me because... |
| I have no further information. Really, I don't. Everything
I have is online and can be accessed as described on my home
page:

And I'm sorry, but I do not have the time to give advice or instruction
on how to do genealogy or how to solve your genealogical problems.
The major genealogy web sites (e.g., Genealogy.com, Ancestry.com,
RootsWeb.com, and FamilySearch.org) have free advice and tutorials online.
There are also message boards and mailing lists intended to help novice
genealogists (e.g., at RootsWeb.com,
Ancestry.com,
and GenForum.com).
Also try Cyndi's List for links to
the many "how-to" genealogy web sites.
Good luck and good hunting,
Diana Gale Matthiesen,
Owner, Researcher, and Webmaster
P.S. As for how my web pages are created, there
is no genealogy software that will automatically generate pages like mine.
My pages are all created manually using an HTML editor. That's why
they look so amateurish, but I want them to be fast to load, not pretty
to look at. The purpose here is the transfer of information, not
entertainment. |
