| County Formation of Lincoln Co., VA / KY, 1776-1811 |
| Lincoln Co. was formed in 1780, at which time it encompassed
the entire southern and western part of what would become the state of
Kentucky in 1792. Initially, settlement was concentrated in
the eastern part of the county. It gradually spread westwards, with
new counties being formed in the wake of settlement.
