These indices only index the family group sheets, not the census records or other data pages.  People whose surname is unknown (most are married women whose maiden name is unknown) are not indexed, though I do index individuals who simply do not use a surname (e.g., royalty) and those who have yet to adopt a surname (viz., those who continue to use patronyms). Children who died before coming of age are not indexed, even if their full name is known (because they could not possibly have any descendants who would be searching for them).  If you want to find them, search for their parents or a surviving sibling.

The files are named using the husband's surname followed by his given name(s), which are then followed by the name(s) of his known spouse(s).  The files are grouped by the first letter(s) of the husband's surname and listed alphabetically within groups.  Please note that —
  • the /Brown/ folder includes surnames beginning in Brown, such as Browne, Browning, and Brownson.
  • the /GKC/ folder contains only my GRONINGER / KRONINGER / CRONINGER kin.
  • the /Lyon/ folder includes variations beginning in "de," such as, "de LYOUN."
  • the /_/ folder contains sheets where the husband's surname is unknown or where no surname was used (e.g., nobility and those using only a patronym).
