| ELY is an English surname, but Germans of the surname IHLE who immigrated
to America had their surnames Anglicized to ELY, ELEY, EALY, EALEY, ELI,
etc. Elizabeth (ELY) CORBIN is descended from Pennsylvania Deutsch
ancestors whose original surname was IHLE — the so-called "Pennsylvania
Dutch" are German, not Dutch!
