¹Rebecca's sisters, Mary (TOWNE) EASTEY and Sarah (TOWNE) CLOYCE, were also accused. Mary was hanged, but Sarah was never put on trial. Sarah died in 1703, and her husband, Peter CLOYCE, then married Susannah HARRINGTON, daughter of Robert HARRINGTON, great-great-grandfather of the Sarah HARRINGTON who married Seth HOLT. ²Susannah GUTTERSON's niece, Sarah GUTTERSON, married Zebediah AUSTIN, whose great-grandmother, Ann (ALCOCK) FOSTER, died in jail at Salem, awaiting hanging. ³Abigail (DANE) FAULKNER was temporarily spared because she was pregnant. By the time she had birthed her baby, the accusers had recanted and the witch hunt was over.
