Nancy is said to have married George ca. 1849, but because only Eliza was left behind in Ohio with her grandmother, Hannah GOODWIN, I'm inclined to think that only Eliza was Sophronia's child.  Or did George have a wife between Sophronia and Nancy?

3a.  1850 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com; Image #18 of 62 misindexed "Stroop"):  Town of Muscatine, Muscatine Co., IA, p. 346B, 128/128, enumerated 2 Sep 1850, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1850 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤

William    "  3 M       "

The BECK family doesn't appear to have any genealogical relationship with the STROUPs; it looks like George and St. Leger simply work together.

3b.  1850 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com; Image #39 of 47):  District No. 23, Goshen Twp., Clermont Co., OH, p. 161A, 1554/1554, enumerated 21 Oct 1850, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1850 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤

The older Hannah is believed to be Sophronia's mother, and it's reasonable that she would take in her granddaughter.
