6.  1890 Census:  the 1890 Census Population Schedules were destroyed.

7.  Underground Railroad Sites and History: Augusta Conductors (online at the Augusta, Kentucky, web site):

ROBERT MAINS: A resident of the county was arrested and charged with FERRYING certain unidentified slaves across the Ohio River, thus aiding in their escape.  Witnesses were Thomas Lloyd, W.A. Pepper, and J.J. Anderson.  Posting bond for Mains were James Stairs and Elijah Stroube.  He was released on bail of $500.00 pending trial.  Mains failed to appear in Court at the September term of 1864, thus forfeiting bail.
