Jackson Strop 22 M Laborer Unknown

The fact that Jackson's birthplace was listed as "unknown" doesn't necessarily imply that Jackson didn't know where he was born (or that he "faked it" in later censuses) because Jackson was, without doubt, not the informant for this record. The men were probably laboring in the fields when the enumerator came by, so the informant was most likely Sarah, who apparently knew Jackson's age, but not his birthplace.
