These data indicate:
No. & Sex Age Class Therefore Born Individuals Inferred
1 male 4 or under 1835-1840 = David (b. 1835/6)
2 males 5-9 1830-1835 = George (b. 1833/4)
= John (b. 1831/2)
1 male 20-29 1810-1820 = Nicholas (b. 1806/7)
2 females 4 or under 1835-1840 = Mary J. (b. 1839/40)
= Elizabeth (b. 1836/7)
1 female 20-29 1810-1820 = Cynthia (b. 1810)
1 person engaged in agriculture
Nicholas is in the wrong age class, yet surely these are our subjects.  They are listed next to William MAXWELL, who is in the 1810-20 age class, so he could be Cynthia's brother.

3.  1850 Census Index/Microfilm (online at GenealogyLibrary.com):  2nd District, Campbell Co., KY, p. 129B, 834/834, enumerated 7 Sep 1850, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1850 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤•

Matilda A      "  4 F       "
Cynthia        "  2 F       "
"Daniel" is definitely Daniel, yet he is "David" in the 1860 and 1870 censuses, where he is b. KY.  "Ia" was then the abbreviation for Indiana.  Living next door to Nicholas's parents, John & Mary STROUBE

4a.  1860 Census Index/Images (online at Genealogy.com, Image #30 of 48):  Grand View P.O., Hammond Twp., Spencer Co., IN, Roll 197 (Book 1), p. 30, PN 30, 214/215, enumerated 15 Jun 1860, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1860 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤•

Unless they just popped across the river for the 1850 census, at least some of the children had to have been born in Kentucky.  Also, John is apparently widowed and Sarah is his daughter, which explains why she is out of order on the list.

4b.  1860 Census Index/Images (online at Genealogy.com, Image #8 of 31):  Gentryville P.O., Clay Twp., Spencer Co., IN, Roll 297 (Book 1), p. 56, 391/391, enumerated 6 Jul 1860, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1860 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤•

Living with the David PAINTER family.

5.  1870 Census Index/Images (online at Genealogy.com, Image #59 of 66):  Grandview P.O., Hammond Twp., Spencer Co., IN, Roll 358 (Book 1), p. 478A, PN 59, 444/444, enumerated 11 Aug 1870, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1870 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤•

If Sarah is our subject's granddaughter — because again, she is place last on the list, out of chronological order — then she was enumerated twice, once here and once with her father, John STROUBE

6.  1880 Census (indexed at FamilySearch.org; page image online at Ancestry.com, Image #26 of 36):  Centerville, Grass Twp., Spencer Co., IN, p. 186B, PN 26, SD 1, ED 51, enumerated 15 Jun 1880, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1880 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤•
