William was born in the English-speaking part of Canada (viz., Ontario), not the French-speaking part (viz., Quebec).  In 1910, William gives the birthplace of his father as "Lower Canada (i.e., Ontario) and his mother's birthplace as New York.  You get the impression he didn't know where his parents were born, but was reluctant to say to.  If his mother was, indeed, his adoptive father's sister (i.e., Anna STRAUB, sister of Albert F. STRAUB), then she had to have been born in Wuerttemberg [Germany].  Albert F. STRAUB immigrated in 1850, probably through New York, and he lived in Ohio before moving to Iowa, which may be where William got those locations in his head.

There are over 18,000 pages on this web site, and I simply don't remember every page, much less every person on every page.

"The Cloud" is double-speak for "dumb terminal on a main frame." Been there; done that. Never again.

The IT guys on the big iron hated the Personal Computer because it gave users freedom and power; now they've conned you into being back under their control.
