In 1999 I went to the cemetery and took photos of the Straub tombstones. Also in this plot are his wife Louisa, daughter Grace, Hattie's son Roy Ward and John's son Harold. Myrtle Tree Cemetery next to the Baptist Church [photos of tombstones in file]

The Myrtle Tree Baptist Church burned in 1986, and a new building was erected.  It began 24 April 1830 by Elder Wm Fuson ($75 per year).  The land was purchased from Samuel Kite, the first church was made of logs.

Jacob  Straub age 64, born Feb 1836, widowed
Mary G    "   age 35, daughter, born June 1864, single [Grace]

They are living very near to son Jacob (Edward) and his family and daughter Hattie Ward and her family.

I searched all of Mad River Twp, Westville and Urbana, township and all wards of city, and didn't find sons Charles or John.

!OBIT: newspaper obituary dated 22 Nov 1906 for Jacob Straub: died at home of son in Springfield, 71 years old, had moved to Urbana 27 years ago. Survivors 3 sons, 2 daughters. [I don't know what newspaper this was from but Maxine Smith at the Richland Co Genealogical Society sent me this information in March 1995 which she found on page 382 of their scrapbook of obituaries from newspapers. She said "the article did not list the names of the sons and daughters, maybe a fuller account would be in a different paper."]
