Sources (n.b., Owen County and Clay County are adjacent):

1a.  Works Progress Administraton.  1850-1920.  Index to Marriage Records: Owen County, Indiana (online at Ancestry.com):
Henry W Straub Lydia Auman 12 Nov 1880 Book 31, p. 296
Surely the year here should be 1879.  Normally I would not question an extracted record, but I have not found the WPA extractions to be as accurate as most.

This enumerator was having a tough time; both his spelling and his handwriting were terrible.  "Pelina" is Henry's sister, Paulina (STROUP) ROESCHLEIN.  The big question is whether Henry and Lydia were actually married at this point or just living together.  Or did the enumerator make another error, giving her surname STRAUB when she should have been surnamed AUMAN?
