William Hamer ROSE
Elizabeth DEVAULT
Husband:  William Hamer7 ROSE
Birth:  14 May 1816, of Brunswick Co., VA
Death:  6 Mar 1888, White Hall, Greene Co., IL
Occupation:  blacksmith
Y-DNA Haplogroup:  R1b1b2 — Group L
Father said to be:  Lewis L.6 ROSE (1782- ) — John5, William4, John3, William2, William1 — of England and Surry Co., VA
Mother said to be:  Sarah Elizabeth BIRDSONG (1792- ) — also with long ancestry at WorldConnect

A file at WorldConnect gives William six generations of ancestry on his patrilineal line.  If this file is correct, it has ramifications for the other ROSEs who are his DNA match.  But note that Brunswick Co., VA seems an odd location for these ROSEs.  This strikes me as a bad connection, and a check at the ROSE DNA web site puts the Brunswick Co., VA, ROSEs in "Group F."  Of course, we don't know what that means in terms of the test data.  Are the close?  Or out of the picture?  Or has the test subject made a bad connection to William?
