At first glance, Joanna's age looks like 24, but on closer inspection, it might be 34, which is nearer the truth.  If Mary Etta is truly 3 years old, then she was born before our couple married.  I'm going to assume her age is enumerator error, and 1880 supports that this is the case.  Frederick is almost certainly Benjamin's brother.

Jacob Straub (1808-1889) was the first of three brothers to come from Snyder County, Penna., to Carroll County.  He came to this country in 1854, and settled on a farm three miles west of Shannon.  Later he moved to Manson, Iowa, where he died.  In Pennsylvania, he had married Hannah Gordon; and they were the parents of five children... Joanna, the wife of Benjamin F. Kramer of Florence in Stephenson County...

If Joanna & Benjamin moved to Florence, it was after the 1880 census because they were married in 1868 in Carroll County, then were in the 1870 and 1880 censuses of Carroll County.
