I have no explanation for John being born in MD, except that he might be Samuel's (youngest) brother or nephew, though in which case he should have been listed last.  I would have thought he was Samuel's son from a prior marriage, but Samuel & Mary were married several years before John was born — or is John's age wrong?  One way or another, this appears to be an enumerator error of one kind or another.
