Who is Gabriel?!  I have found him in no other census.  In fact, I have found no other record of any kind of any Gabriel CARRICO.  I have to believe the 1870 census is grossly in error as to the name of the head-of-household.  It seems inescapable that Gabriel must be Elisha, with the wrong name (or his middle name), the wrong age, and the wrong birthplace.  There are certainly other errors aplenty in this record.

These are the children of Elisha & Julia (CONE) CARRICO.  With the exception of Katharine, all the birthplaces are wrong.  Condler should be Conley, and he should be age 18.  You have to wonder who the informant might have been.
