In Memory of Genl. Peter Corbin Chambliss, a native of South Carolina, he removed in boyhood to Mississippi and died in Georgia May 5th AD 1855 in the 64th year of his age.  Endowed with a mind clear and vigorous, he acquired wealth, reputation, and good will and was honored with high station, Military and Civil and under the great JACKSON, he fought the Battle of his Country and was committed to his grave away from home by the hands of the Masonic Brotherhood.  His name will be fondly cherished.
