1.  LDS.  Family Search: Internet Genealogy Service:  IGI - International Genealogical Index (online at FamilySearch.org):  patron submissions to the IGI have  James & Sarah born in "Rockingham, West Virginia."  Of course, Rockingham Co. is in VA, not WV.  The CUPPs in Rockingham Co., VA, are descendants of Marcus CUPP, a complete different line of CUPPs from the ones in Preston Co., (W)VA, who are descendants of Leonard CUPP, Sr.

James was "Jr." to his uncle, James BENSON.  Sarah is telling a big fib about her age.  Listed next to James's brother, Joseph N. BENSON, with whom is living their widowed mother, Keziah (SPURGEON) BENSON.
