Censuses prior to 1850 did not give each individual's age, but instead merely tallied people by age class. Listed below are the birth year ranges for each of the age classes in the 1790 through 1840 censuses. For what the Column Nos. refer to, please see What the Numbers in the Federal Censuses Mean
